I have recently retired. Looking for something to do around the house I have taken some interest in my wife’s roses (In need of help) In late winter I trimmed them back.
They came back looking good, but now I have these black spots . Please help!
Do roses like coffee grounds and an acid soil?
How to grow roses in very hot climates? Some of my
roses wither after blooming once. Why? The size of
the blooms also become smaller. Can you tell me why?
Please let me know.
Do you know where I can find a recipe for rose tea–not the tea that humans drink but something that I can give to my roses to help them bloom and thrive? They have them at my organic flower store, but I’d like to save money by making it myself. Thanks.
I have Simplicity Hedge Roses and I live in Michigan. They seem to get aphids and black spot and other problems. I never water overhead, they get more than 6 hrs of sun and some years they seem to bloom ok and other years they do not get that many as shown in the picture when I purchased them. I use fertilizer and mulch, etc and have had the soil tested and added what was needed. They are across my front lawn in single row…thinking about taking them all out. They are the Simplicity rose from Jackson and Perkins and maybe just not good for my area? Anything else I can do…in the spring I usually use dish detergent solution mixed with couple of other things to keep the aphids and things off of them but if not done continously they get them anyway…Suggestions?
